Show Notes Chapter Markers

Discover the opportunities and challenges facing pharmacy and medicines management in the NHS. We speak to Samantha O’Connell (GP Clinical Pharmacist) and Johnathan Laird (Prescribing Pharmacist and Founder of Pharmacy in Practice) about their experiences as pharmacists during the pandemic and their hopes for the future.

In this COVID-19 series, Tom Clarke (Director -  NHS Insights & Interaction, Mtech Access) asks experts holding operational, strategic and clinical roles across the NHS to share their experiences and insights into how the NHS has responded to COVID-19 and the wider challenges facing the health service.

In this webinar, Tom begins by asking Johnathan about the changes he's seen in the world of pharmacy in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tom then asks Samantha about how clinical practice had changed, in terms of prescribing and getting medicines to patients. They discuss which changes Samantha would like to keep and what risks and opportunities these might pose. Tom then comes back to Johnathan to ask how changes in prescribing practices and processes might impact medicines suppliers.

This episode was originally broadcast on 1st May 2020 as a webinar. This podcast series has been converted from our webinar series 'How is COVID-19 impacting the NHS?'.
